Who I am

This website is run by Shamsudheen Thayada, who is responsible for any personal data collected through it. You can reach me at hello@shamsu.in.

What I collect

Only what you send through the contact form: your name, email address and message. To limit spam, the server also briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, for up to an hour, to count how many messages come from one place. Like all web servers, the host keeps standard access logs.

Why, and on what basis

I use your details only to read and reply to your message. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about my work (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), or steps you ask me to take before a possible sale.

Who sees it

Your message is emailed to my mailbox on this site's hosting service (BigRock), and may be read through my email provider. I do not sell your data, use it for marketing, or add you to any mailing list.

How long I keep it

For as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and then I delete it, normally within 12 months. If we agree a sale, I keep the records needed for my accounts for the period required by law.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Links to Instagram and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You have the right to ask to see, correct or delete the data I hold about you, and to object to how I use it, by emailing hello@shamsu.in. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
